हर बच्चे को स्कूल मिले, यह सपना सबको प्यारा हो

Paper boats and painted kites, songs in a scattered row,
The fourteenth is a garden where his memory loves to grow.

आज के बच्चे कल का भारत, यही उनका विश्वास था
इसीलिए हर नन्हे मन में उन्हें दिखता आकाश था

He believed a country's future sits in a small child's hand,
So he honoured every classroom as the pride of the land.

गुब्बारे उड़ते हैं नभ में, बाल दिवस की धूम है
हर चेहरे पर खुशियाँ बिखरी, हर बचपन मासूम है

Balloons go up on Children's Day toward the open sky,
As if his gentle dream of them had never said goodbye.

बेटी को लिखे थे खत उन्होंने, बातें दुनिया-जहान की
पढ़कर आज भी मिलती हैं सीखें ज्ञान की

He wrote long letters to his daughter, patient, kind and wise,
And taught a nation how to see the world through curious eyes.

पहले प्रधानमंत्री थे वो, फिर भी बच्चों के थे यार
झुककर उनसे बात वे करते, इतना था उनमें प्यार

Chacha Nehru, they still call him with a grin,
A name that only love could give, and only love could win.

बच्चों के थे प्यारे चाचा, सबके दिल के तारे थे
नन्हे-मुन्ने फूलों पर वे जान अपनी वारे थे

November's chill turns gentle when the fourteenth comes around,
For every school is ringing with a bright and joyful sound.

चौदह नवंबर की सुबह सुहानी, स्कूलों में गूँजे गीत
बच्चों की हँसी में बसती है चाचा नेहरू की प्रीत

A rose upon his jacket, a smile upon his face,
He met each child he ever saw with a father's warm embrace.

सीने पर गुलाब सजाकर जब बच्चों के बीच वो आते थे
चाचा कहकर प्यार से बच्चे उनसे लिपट जाते थे

जीवन विकास का सिद्धान्त है,
स्थिर रहने का नहीं।
