Maa's blessing dances along with you.

दीये की लौ में माँ की छाया है,
हर गरबे में उनका साया है।

diye ki lau mein maa ki chhaaya hai,
har garbe mein unka saaya hai.

Clap once, clap twice, then turn with the tune,
the garba floor glows beneath the moon.

तालियों में गूँजे माँ का नाम,
गरबा है भक्ति का सुंदर धाम।

taaliyon mein goonje maa ka naam,
garba hai bhakti ka sundar dhaam.

Two sticks clash and a laugh rings clear,
the dandiya night is the best of the year.

घाघरा घूमे, कंगन बोले,
माँ की भक्ति में सब दिल खोले।

ghaghra ghoome, kangan bole,
maa ki bhakti mein sab dil khole.

Ghagra swirling, mirrors gleam,
the whole town moves like a single dream.

डांडिया की खनक पे दिल झूम गया,
रात का हर पल सुनहरा हो गया।

dandiya ki khanak pe dil jhoom gaya,
raat ka har pal sunehra ho gaya.

Nine nights of rhythm, nine nights of prayer,
Ambe Maa is dancing in the evening air.

चूनर लहराई, चाँद मुस्काया,
अम्बे माँ का दर सबको भाया।

chunar lehraayi, chaand muskaaya,
ambe maa ka dar sabko bhaaya.

Round and round the diya's glow,
where the feet of devotion come and go.

नौ रातों का है ये मेला,
हर दिल में गरबा का रेला।

nau raaton ka hai ye mela,
har dil mein garba ka rela.

The dhol begins, the night turns gold,
and every heart feels twenty years old.

ढोल बजा तो थिरक उठे पाँव,
माँ के आँगन में सजी है छाँव।

dhol baja to thirak uthe paanv,
