Now I stand here fully, softness and all —

They said change this, fix that, before you're seen,
but I stopped chasing a version I've never been.
I'm learning to love the skin I live in now —
not the one they picture, but the one I allow.

Is jism ne har toofan mein mujhe thama hai,
ab main ise kisi aur ki nazar se nahi, apni nazar se dekhungi.

आईने में खुद को छुपाना अब बंद किया,
जो शक्ल है मेरी, उसी को गले लगाना सीखा।

Aaine mein khud ko chhupana ab band kiya,
jo shakal hai meri, usi ko gale lagana seekha.

किसी के मापदंड पर खुद को घटाना छोड़ दिया,
जैसी हूँ वैसी ही खुद को अपनाना सीख लिया।

Kisi ke maapdand par khud ko ghatana chhod diya,
jaisi hoon waisi hi khud ko apnaana seekh liya.
