Within our borders, we speak more than twenty-two officially recognized languages and hundreds of dialects. We follow different religions, celebrate different festivals, eat different foods, and wear different clothes depending on which corner of this vast country we call home. And yet, when the tricolour rises and the national anthem plays, every single one of us, regardless of where we come from, stands together as one Indian. This is the true miracle of our nation, unity in diversity. Our freedom struggle itself was a remarkable example of this unity. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, and people of every faith marched side by side against a common oppressor. Leaders from Tamil Nadu to Punjab, from Bengal to Gujarat, united under one flag and one dream of a free India. They understood that our differences were not weaknesses to be eliminated, but colours that made the nation's fabric richer and stronger. Today, in a world often torn apart by division and intolerance, India continues to stand as a living example that people of different backgrounds can build one shared home. But this unity does not maintain itself automatically; it requires conscious effort from every generation. We must resist those who try to divide us along religious or regional lines for narrow gains. We must celebrate our neighbour's festival as warmly as our own, and we must see every fellow Indian, no matter their background, as part of the same family. As we celebrate this Independence Day, let us renew our commitment to this beautiful idea, that India's strength does not lie despite its diversity, but because of it.
