The cat sits patiently at the door of the neighbor’s house, waiting for his best friend to come out so they may play…

Ziggy, who is now 14 years old, has been acting as the self-appointed hallway patrol officer for his apartment complex for a number of years. It has always been one of his favorite things to do to go up and down the hallway and take a whiff at each of the apartment doors. Then, one day, both he and his mother recognized that a new neighbor had moved in.

According to Dina Massery, Ziggy’s mother, who spoke with The Dodo, “We learned that my next-door neighbor, Erin, got a cat a few months before,” “I only knew because Ziggy kept sniffing at the door and meowing, and then I started to hear Jude singing the song of his people through the door at Ziggy,” the narrator says. “I only knew because Ziggy kept sniffing at the door and meowing.”

Every time Ziggy would find himself in the corridor, he would make it a point to knock on Jude’s door and attempt to introduce himself. Because Massery and her neighbor thought the two may get along well together, they came up with the idea to make an attempt at introducing them. They were care to go at a modest pace and allow the cats plenty of opportunity to get used to one another before proceeding. Both of them were unsure about how they felt about one another when they first met, but today they are the greatest of friends, and Ziggy often invites Jude to join him in playing whenever he has the opportunity.

When Ziggy wants to have a playdate with Jude, he will call for his mom to unlock the front door, and then he will sit in front of Jude’s apartment and shout and scratch until Jude eventually comes out to play. This happens every time Ziggy wants to have a playdate with Jude. Ziggy and Jude like their charming, funny, and somewhat disorganized system, but it does the job, and they wouldn’t have it any other way if they could help it.

“Jude will occasionally knock on our door to ask Ziggy to join him outside for a game of catch, but more often than not, it’s Ziggy yelling at my door to be let into the hallway so he can ask Jude to join him outside,” Massery said. We normally allow them to spend some time together hanging out a couple times a week

The two cat parents are sure to have a great deal of fun during the playdates since they are often anything from quiet and provide a great deal of entertainment.

“In the past two weeks, Jude has squirmed his way under the very back corner of my bed four times now, I think,” she said. “What do you think?” According to Massery. “It is really stressful as well as amusing. The first time it occurred, we startled the entire building because it was 10:30 at night, and we were scream-laughing at the chaos of the two of them because, while we were trying to get Jude out from under my bed, Ziggy promptly walked over to Erin’s door while we were distracted, and he pushed it open with his head and casually walked in as if he owned the place. It was total anarchy.

Ziggy and Jude are overjoyed that they have found out that they are neighbors, and they want to continue playing together for as long as both of their mothers would let it.
