When he sees a little person cowering in fear on the highway, the driver screeches to a stop…

Marc Alba was on his way back from assisting a colony of stray cats when he came across something that compelled him to pull over quickly. He had been under the impression that his day’s labor of rescuing animals was over.

According to what Alba told The Dodo, “while driving on a long stretch of overpass on my way home, I saw a small tabby kitten standing on his hind legs, screaming toward the oncoming traffic.” “I knew that if I didn’t stop, not only was there a slim possibility that he would be saved, but it would surely haunt me for the rest of my life,” she said. “I knew that if I didn’t stop, there was a slim possibility that he would be saved.”

Alba had to make a quick stop next to an approaching exit ramp before she could get to the cat. He was aware that the kitten may bolt out into the path of oncoming traffic at any minute, and as a result, he needed to move as swiftly as he possibly could.

This is what it looks like when a miracle happens.

“I was horrified to see him there, and it felt like time stopped,” Alba recalled. “It felt like the world had stopped turning.” “I was in such a state of fear that I didn’t even thought to get my gloves or any kind of blanket to assist me in grabbing him. I used my feet to try to corner him so he wouldn’t run into the traffic, and I was able to scoop him up into my arms once I succeeded in doing so. While I waited for the opportunity to go back to my vehicle and cross the street, I stood there holding him tightly and murmuring things to attempt to keep him (and myself) calm. I was probably standing next to the overpass for approximately three minutes, and throughout that time, hundreds of automobiles went by without anybody stopping.

The rescued kitten, who was subsequently given the name Dodger, was naturally quite terrified at first, but after being transported to safety in the vehicle with his savior, he was eventually able to relax a little bit.

“It shouldn’t come as a surprise that he was terrified of me, but I think the speeding cars were more terrifying to him,” Alba remarked. “As soon as we got inside the vehicle, the quiet began to calm him down right away. He did not scream or make any attempt to free himself from my clutches. His weak tiny heart was beating quite quickly. In spite of the fact that I started the engine, he remained remarkably composed during the whole ride. Because of all of his attempts to climb the concrete, his claws had been worn down to little stubs by the time he was done.

Dodger had suffered several minor injuries but fortunately did not have any significant wounds. A trip to the veterinarian revealed that he had a broken tail, which may need him to have it amputated at some point in the future; but, for the time being, he simply needs a lot of rest to help him recover. Given the location where he was discovered, there is a tragic possibility that he had been tossed from a moving vehicle into the roadway. He didn’t get off to the best start in life, but he’s making up for it now by showering everyone he cares about with love and attention like he’s never experienced it before.

“Dodger is doing phenomenal,” Alba said. “I’m so proud of him.” “As soon as we went back to the house, he fell asleep like a rock. The poor infant was simply relieved to be in a calm and comfortable environment.

Dodger is now being cared for by Alba as part of a local rescue organization as he waits for his forever home to be found. For the time being, all he can do is be thankful that he is finally away from the busy road and settled into a warm and welcoming house, which is exactly where he should be.
