Self Introduction Speech for the First Day of College
Popular Speeches Topics for You.
Good morning, everyone! My name is Aanya, and like most of you, I am sitting here today with a mix of nerves and excitement because this is my very first day of college. I thought I would use this minute to tell you a little about who I am, beyond just my name on the attendance sheet. I come from a small town about two hours from here, where the biggest excitement was the weekly farmers market, so a city campus this big still feels a little overwhelming, in the best way. I finished school with a strong love for biology, mostly because my grandmother was a nurse and her stories about the human body fascinated me since I was seven years old. That is actually why I chose this course, and why I am hoping to specialize in genetics somewhere down the line. Outside of academics, I am someone who needs to move to think clearly, so you will probably find me jogging around the campus track in the early mornings, or signing up for the badminton club once trials are announced. I also sketch in my free time, nothing fancy, just doodles in the margins of my notebooks, but it helps me process a busy day. I will be honest, walking into a room full of new faces is intimidating, but I have always believed that every stranger is just a friend you have not had a real conversation with yet. So if you see me around campus, in the library, or struggling to find the chemistry lab, please say hello. I promise I am much more interesting once you get me talking about something I care about. I am genuinely looking forward to the next few years with all of you, to the friendships we will build, the all-nighters before exams, and hopefully a few good memories along the way. Thank you for listening, and I cannot wait to get to know each one of you properly.
