The only thing Lizzo and Nickelback want to do is become successful rock artists and be there for each other.

The Canadian rock band Nickelback gave their response to the singer-songwriter behind “About Damn Time” on Monday, almost four years after she made positive remarks about the band’s music during an interview with CBC Music in 2019.

Lizzo, who is now 34 years old, can be seen in the original video footage bopping along as soon as she hears the band’s popular song “How You Remind Me” from 2001. She then comments, “It has a beautiful climax.”

“Why do people not like Nickelback? The Grammy winner went on to say more, stating, “I feel like Nickelback gets way too much s—.” “I believe we are in a bind here.”

Lizzo kept singing along with the music, despite the fact that she was unfamiliar with some of the lyrics. Then, she went on to explain why she believes that Nickelback receives a significant amount of criticism.

“Because [lead singer Chad Kroeger] had a curly blond perm,” she said, referring to the distinctive haircut that the frontman had in the early 2000s. “That is the only reason why they get s— because this is an amazing song,” said the person.

Because the band did not respond to Lizzo until this week, it is unknown whether or not they received Lizzo’s appreciation at the time it was given. On Nickelback’s Instagram account, the band posted the video, “Thank you, Lizzo, for the kind words!”

The members of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame then extended an invitation to the artist behind “Good as Hell” to play with them at some point in the future, saying, “Open invite any show any time… maybe see you in Houston this summer?”

Nickelback is getting ready to launch its summer tour in June, and they will be making two stops in Texas: the first will be at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas on July 22, and the second will be at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, which is near to Houston, which is where Lizzo had her training on the flute.

On her Instagram account, she shared the same video with the message, “I guess imma a Disney princess now.”

The artist who won a Grammy appeared in an episode of the popular series in the role of The Duchess of Plazir-15. Her character was a planetary ruler who was married to Jack Black’s character, Captain Bombardier.

Lizzo revealed the extent of the impact that the Star Wars saga has had on her life in an Instagram post that also included photographs of her working on set.
