VIDEO: A little boy runs across the traffic to help an injured dog…

Although many people on our planet are unconcerned with their surroundings, there are a few exceptional people that go above and beyond to ensure the safety of others. This is the story of an 11-year-old kid who is a superhero in his own way, risking his life to rescue the life of an injured dog. According to local news station Globo Rural, a Brazilian boy named Jean Fernandez raced to the center of the road in the middle of traffic to help a suffering dog who had been injured by a vehicle that had fled, leaving the poor creature in pain behind.

Our 11-year-old hero didn’t just stand there and do nothing because he realized that he was the one who had to step in and rescue the puppy. When the dog was injured, the little kid raced to the street, stopping traffic as he picked up the injured dog in his arms and carried him back to safety.

Local resident Rafael Matins captured this kind and sweet act on video, and he went on to post the photos he shot on his social media accounts. On Facebook, a woman posted and accurately captured the event, stating, “This little boy is already greater than many men.” The video of this brave act has gone viral.

When questioned about his heroic act of compassion, Jean’s mother says it doesn’t surprise her since he has loved animals since she can remember. Jean would always help any wounded or hopeless animals, she added.

The dog, called Mel (which means “honey” in English), was subsequently transferred to a nearby shelter, where officials examined his injuries and provided him with the required medical care. He is now on his way to a full recovery.
