Why is Psalm 150 a fitting close to the book of Psalms?
As the final psalm, it's an all-out call to praise, listing instruments used in worship: trumpet, psaltery, harp, timbrel, stringed instruments, and cymbals (vv.3-5).
What does the closing verse call for?
V.6 calls, "Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD," a universal call extending praise to every living creature.
Where is God to be praised, according to verse 1?
V.1 says, "Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power," naming both his earthly dwelling and the heavens as places of worship. Compare Psalms 145:21.
Psalms 150:6 gives the book's final command: let everything that hath breath praise the LORD, echoing the vow of Psalms 145:21 to bless his name forever.
