Shanti Mantras

ॐ सह नाववतु । सह नौ भुनक्तु । सह वीर्यं करवावहै । तेजस्विनावधीतमस्तु मा विद्विषावहै ॥

ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥ Om Saha Navavatu, Saha Nau Bhunaktu, Saha Viryam Karavavahai, Tejasvinavadhitamastu Ma Vidvishavahai, Om Shantih Shantih Shantih

Meaning May He protect us both together; may He nourish us both together; may we work together with great energy; may our study be illuminating; may we never have hatred for each other. Om peace, peace, peace.

ॐ पूर्णमदः पूर्णमिदं पूर्णात्पूर्णमुदच्यते । पूर्णस्य पूर्णमादाय पूर्णमेवावशिष्यते ॥

ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥ Om Purnamadah Purnamidam Purnatpurnamudachyate, Purnasya Purnamadaya Purnamevavashishyate, Om Shantih Shantih Shantih

Meaning That is whole, this is whole; from that wholeness, this wholeness comes; taking away wholeness from wholeness, what remains is still whole. Om peace, peace, peace.

ॐ द्यौः शान्तिरन्तरिक्षं शान्तिः पृथिवी शान्तिरापः शान्तिरोषधयः शान्तिः । वनस्पतयः शान्तिर्विश्वेदेवाः शान्तिर्ब्रह्म शान्तिः सर्वं शान्तिः शान्तिरेव शान्तिः सा मा शान्तिरेधि ॥

Meaning May there be peace in heaven, sky, earth, water, herbs, trees, among the gods, in Brahman, and in all — may that peace come to me.

अयं बन्धुरयं नेति गणना लघुचेतसाम् । उदारचरितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् ॥

Ayam Bandhurayam Neti Ganana Laghuchetasam, Udaracharitanam Tu Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam

Meaning "This one is a relative, this one is a stranger" — so calculates the small-minded; for those of noble character, the whole world is but one family.
