Meaning I worship Achyuta, Keshava, Rama-Narayana, Krishna-Damodara, Vasudeva, Hari, Shridhara, Madhava, the beloved of the Gopikas, the Lord of Janaki, Ramachandra.

उद्धरेदात्मनात्मानं नात्मानमवसादयेत् । आत्मैव ह्यात्मनो बन्धुरात्मैव रिपुरात्मनः ॥

Uddharedatmanatmanam Natmanam Avasadayet, Atmaiva Hyatmano Bandhur Atmaiva Ripuratmanah. Bhagavad Gita 6.5

Meaning Uplift yourself by the power of your own mind; do not degrade yourself; the mind is both friend and enemy of the Self.

उदासीनवदासीनो गुणैर्यो न विचाल्यते । गुणा वर्तन्त इत्येव योऽवतिष्ठति नेङ्गते ॥

Udasinavadaseeno Gunairyo Na Vichaalyate, Guna Vartanta Ityeva Yovaatishtati Nengate. Bhagavad Gita 14.23

Meaning One who remains seated like a witness, undisturbed by the three modes of nature, knowing that it is only the modes that act — he stands firm and does not waver.

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन । मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि ॥

Meaning Your right is to perform your duty alone, never to claim its fruits; let not the fruit of action be your motive, nor let there be attachment to inaction.

य एनं वेत्ति हन्तारं यश्चैनं मन्यते हतम् । उभौ तौ न विजानीतो नायं हन्ति न हन्यते ॥

Ya Enam Vetti Hantaram Yashchainam Manyate Hatam, Ubhau Tau Na Vijanito Nayam Hanti Na Hanyate. Bhagavad Gita 2.19

Meaning One who thinks this Self is the slayer, and one who thinks this Self is slain — both of these are ignorant; this Self neither slays nor is slain.

न जायते म्रियते वा कदाचिन्नायं भूत्वा भविता वा न भूयः । अजो नित्यः शाश्वतोऽयं पुराणो न हन्यते हन्यमाने शरीरे ॥

Na Jayate Mriyate Va Kadachit Nayam Bhutva Bhavita Va Na Bhuyah, Ajo Nityah Shashvato Ayam Purano Na Hanyate Hanyamane Sharire. Bhagavad Gita 2.20

Meaning The soul is never born, never dies; once having been, it does not cease to be; it is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, primeval — it is not slain when the body is slain.

नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावकः । न चैनं क्लेदयन्त्यापो न शोषयति मारुतः ॥

Nainam Chhindanti Shastrani Nainam Dahati Pavakah, Na Chainam Kledayantyapo Na Shoshayati Marutah. Bhagavad Gita 2.23

Meaning Weapons cannot cut this Self, fire cannot burn it, water cannot wet it, and wind cannot dry it — a declaration of the absolute indestructibility of the soul.

पत्रं पुष्पं फलं तोयं यो मे भक्त्या प्रयच्छति । तदहं भक्त्युपहृतमश्नामि प्रयतात्मनः ॥

Patram Pushpam Phalam Toyam Yo Me Bhaktya Prayacchati, Tadaham Bhaktyupahritam Ashnami Prayatatmanah. Bhagavad Gita 9.26

Meaning Whoever offers Me with devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit, or water — that offering of love from a pure-hearted person I accept.
