Hello everyone, thank you for being here tonight to celebrate someone who has meant the world to so many of us. As most of you know, our dear friend is leaving us soon, not for another city, but for an entirely different country, chasing a dream that has been years in the making. I am genuinely happy, and yet there is a lump in my throat as I say these words, because saying goodbye to someone this close never gets easier, no matter how excited you are for them. I still remember the day we first met, two strangers thrown together by circumstance who somehow became inseparable over the years. We have shared so much, late night conversations about nothing and everything, road trips that went hilariously wrong, and quiet moments of support during the hardest times of our lives. A friend like this does not come around often, and I consider myself lucky to have had these years by your side. Moving to another country is not easy. It means starting over, building a new life from scratch, far away from everything familiar, including the people who love you most. But if there is anyone brave enough and capable enough to do this, it is you. Your courage to chase a bigger future, even when it means leaving comfort behind, is something I deeply admire. Yes, the distance will be hard. We will miss the spontaneous coffee meetups and the inside jokes that only made sense to the two of us. But thanks to technology, miles will only be numbers, not real distance between our hearts. Please promise to call, to share your new adventures, and to come back and visit whenever you can. And know that no matter how far away you are, you will always have a home here, with people who will always welcome you back with open arms. Go chase your dreams in that new land. Build the life you have always imagined for yourself, and know that we are cheering for you from here, every single step of the way.
