Psalms 70 – Make Haste to Help Me, O LORD
Tap a verse to highlight it

1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David; to make memorial. O G-d, to deliver me, O HaShem, to help me, make haste.

2 Let them be ashamed and abashed that seek after my soul; let them be turned backward and brought to confusion that delight in my hurt.

3 Let them be turned back by reason of their shame that say: 'Aha, aha.'

4 Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee; and let such as love Thy salvation say continually: 'Let G-d be magnified.'

5 But I am poor and needy; O G-d, make haste unto me; Thou art my help and my deliverer; O HaShem, tarry not.

Verse Of The Day

Nearly identical to the closing verses of Psalms 40:13-17, this psalm contrasts the shame coming to David's enemies with the joy of those who love God's salvation. Psalms 71 picks up the same trust from the perspective of old age.
