What is Psalm 43 about?
Psalm 43 is a short plea for God to vindicate the psalmist against an unjust nation (v.1) and to 'send out thy light and thy truth' to lead him to God's holy hill (v.3), closing with the same 'cast down' refrain found in Psalm 42.
What does verse 3 ask God to send?
It asks God to 'send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles,' language of light similar to Psalms 36:9's 'in thy light shall we see light.'
How does the psalm end?
It closes exactly as Psalm 42 does, with 'Why art thou cast down, O my soul?... hope in God: for I shall yet praise him' (v.5).
