The Sleepy Bear's Winter Cave
Popular Stories Topics for You.
As autumn leaves began to fall, a young bear cub named Bruno felt his eyes growing heavier with each passing day, but he was determined to stay awake and see what winter looked like, since he had never experienced one before. His mother gently explained that bears must sleep through the cold months in a cozy cave, but curious Bruno wanted to peek outside just once more before settling down. He wandered just past the cave entrance and felt the first snowflake land softly on his nose, cold and delicate and unlike anything he had touched before. He watched the snow begin to blanket the forest in silver white, the trees standing silent and still, the whole world hushing into quiet. Shivering happily, he scampered back inside to where his mother had prepared a bed of soft leaves and warm fur. She wrapped her great arm around him and hummed a low, rumbling lullaby that bears have sung to their cubs for generations. Bruno's eyes grew heavy at last, and he snuggled deeper into her warmth, finally ready for his long winter rest. As snow piled gently outside their cave, Bruno drifted into a peaceful sleep, dreaming of springtime meadows waiting for him when he woke.
