After 27 years of marriage, longtime couple Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Jackman have decided to end their relationship. The pair has issued a statement to People in which they claim they feel “blessed” to have spent the last three decades together and that they are now focusing on their “individual growth.” In addition to this, they said that they are entering this new chapter with “gratitude, love, and kindness.”

The whole text of their statement is as follows:

“As husband and wife, we have been so fortunate to have been able to spend over three decades together in a lovely, loving marriage. We have reached a turning point in our journey, and in order to continue developing as individuals, we have chosen to go our own ways. The welfare of our family has been and will continue to be our first concern. We go forward with appreciation, love, and compassion in our hearts as we enter this new chapter. We ask that you please respect our need for privacy as our family works through this time of change in all of our lives. We are grateful for your understanding in this matter.

They continued by saying, “This is the sole statement either of us will make.”

Hugh and Deborra first crossed paths in 1995 while they were both working on the set of the Australian television drama Corelli. They have two children after getting married in 1996 and going on to start a family together.

Hugh recently congratulated Deb on the occasion of their wedding anniversary, which took place in April. In his post to Deb on Instagram, Hugh said, “I love you Deb. Today marks the 27th anniversary of the day we said “I do.” THAT’S 27 YEARS!! I adore you in the deepest way. By working together, we have developed into a lovely family. as well as life. I am indebted to you in an unbelievable way for your laughter, your energy, your generosity, your humor, your cheekiness, your daring, and your loyalty. “I love you with every single beat of my heart.”
