A woman bought an old garage on a piece of land. Friends criticized, but then they went to visit and saw a three-story palace

The woman did not have enough money for an apartment in a good area and she invested the last funds in an old garage on a piece of land. Friends and acquaintances criticized Martha’s reckless decision at first glance, but after a while the woman called them to visit: people were surprised to understand that a three-story palace was hidden behind a modest facade on an area of 45 squares. Martha Novichka herself understood perfectly well the further plan of action already at the stage of buying a garage. The woman worked as an architect and therefore understood real estate, she also knew that prices in Dalton, a fashionable area of London, would only rise.

Marta called her project The Gouse, combining two words – garage and house. The site was located at the back of an alley, surrounded by old Victorian houses. The woman decided to hide her cottage from prying eyes: she retained the original brickwork of the outer wall and provided for a door hidden in the facade.

The superstructure above the garage is also made of similar bricks, the roof remains flat. The garage stood on a tiny piece of land 4×10 meters. Therefore, Marta decided to build apartments on three floors, deepening one of them underground. Part of the floor on each of the upper floors, like the ceiling, was designed by the woman from glass sections. This made it possible to make the interior space visually larger.

The author of the project left the guest bedroom downstairs: And made a balcony that overlooks the garden. After finishing the project, I invited my friends. Just to see how they will be surprised by my “garage,” Marta told reporters with a laugh. The Gouse project brought Novichok fame in London business circles. She has already been ordered to remodel similar premises.
